This historic house is a jewel in the very heart of the Montefeltro area
It is very close to Urbino, birthplace of Raphael, Bramante, Federico da Montefeltro and admired by Piero della Francesca. The property is located within the thirteenth-century village "Castello della Pieve", which is surrounded by green woods, and contains small treasures such as its church of the eighteenth century and medieval tower. The atmosphere you can breathe here is really special.
The unit has a private garden with sofas, table and chairs for outdoor dining and a pool with jacuzzi and against-the-current swimming equipment. It welcomes guests through a small lodge where the old wood stove is ready to make you taste the wonderful local food. On the first floor the kitchen opens on the dining room with a large fireplace. A small living room connects two double bedrooms and a bathroom. A loft with a double bedroom, a single bed and an en-suite bathroom is also available. There is another double room too, with a loft with two twin beds and an en suite bathroom. On the ground floor with direct access to the garden and pool area there is a bathroom and the living room which, with its comfortable sofa bed can be used to welcome 2 more guests. The original structure is combined with the functionality of the rooms and services with comfortable showers and handcrafted sinks in stone and crystal.
In the area you can have a walk along the bathing rivers and cool off under natural waterfalls, or enjoy the Golf Course Alpe della Luna (9 holes), inside the Natural Regional Reserve Alpe della Luna. Inside the village there is a small, cosy restaurant: Il girone dei Golosi (the gluttony circle in Dante's Inferno). The fillet of pork with apples in caramel is one of its specialties, in addition to the typical cuisine or the vegetarian one. You can eat in the garden where you can enjoy a wonderful view over the valley. The services are not more that a couple of miles away: "Mercatello sul Metauro" has been awarded the "orange flag" from the Italian Touring Club .
In Castello della Pieve in 1301, as recalled by a plaque placed on the Tower, Charles of Valois brother of the King of France decreed along with Corso Donati, rector of Massa Trabaria, the exile of Dante Alighieri.
